The long night of research (“Lange Nacht der Forschung”) is the biggest German speaking event for science and innovation and takes place every two years all over Austria. On one evening universities, research institutions and companies showcase research they conduct from a variety of fields. Projects range from natural sciences and human medicine over cultural sciences and economics. The objective of the public engagement event is to inform the public about current research topics, to support institutions in their research efforts and spark interest in science among children and young people.
This year the long night of research cannot take place as usual, but it has moved entirely online. On 9th of October there will be around 50 live streams from 14.00 (CET) on and more than 500 digital contributions will become available on the day and remain accessible until the end of the year. Also, MicrobiomeSupport will take part with a lot of exciting activities! You will have the chance to test your microbiome knowledge in a quiz and listen to microbiome researchers. If you speak German, do not miss out and tune in on the 9th of October or browse through the variety of digital entries.
