Microbiome pathways to bio-pesticides, health, soil strategies, animal welfare, circularity, Farm2Fork, biodiversity, sustainable agriculture
After a fruitful encounter in May 2021 with the Panel for the Future of Science and Technology at the European Parliament, MicrobiomeSupport has announced a re-encounter with the EU Parliament. This time, a high-level roundtable discussion will convene EU-Policymakers and Top-Researchers to debate on food research & innovation and lawmaking developments – all at the example of the microbiome. With Food System Partnerships becoming ever more important in achieving the Green Deal ambitions, the event aims to provide space for a lively and fertile debate on mutual needs and expectations, but also to strengthen shared expertise and solid partnerships.
The event will be hosted by Elsi Katainen, Finnish Member of the European Parliament and Vice-Chair of the AGRI Committee.
A two-part agenda is set up:
PART I: Update on microbiome research & innovation results to solve major societal challenges
PART II: Update on policy projects and microbiome-based solutions
Both parts are followed by a panel discussion between researchers and policy officers.
